Julian obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Bristol in 2016 and was admitted to the bar in Singapore in 2019. Prior to joining the firm as Counsel in 2025, he gained experience in civil and criminal practice in boutique law firms. His areas of practice span complex commercial disputes involving letters of credit, construction disputes ranging from data centres to residential units, family matters and probate disputes, and criminal defence, both in the State Courts and the High Court.

He has also been involved in international arbitration under the auspices of Singapore International Arbitration Centre, and mediation under the auspices of the Singapore Mediation Centre, Singapore International Mediation Centre, and Australian Disputes Centre.

While disputes are inevitable, Julian takes a strategic and pragmatic approach, seeking to achieve favourable outcomes for his clients whether in the courtroom or at arbitration, or seeking a resolution at mediation.

When he is not in the office, he can be found attempting (and failing) to roll back the years on the football or hockey pitch
